Tamara has lead and/or participated in the design and facilitation of the IMPACT! Sustainability Leadership Conference (for The Co-operators), the Blue Dot Dialogue (for the David Suzuki Foundation), the CEGN 2015 Annual Conference, and various components of TNS Canada’s Accelerate conferences. She leads the work to develop an internationally relevant Sustainability Literacy Assessment as well as work to support Universities and Colleges improve their sustainability performance. Tamara is also a lead curriculum designer and co-facilitator for the MBA Sustainability Leadership Bootcamps, the IMPACT! Youth Sustainability Leadership Training, and many other custom courses for clients and partners.

Tamara has been working with The Natural Step Framework for Strategic Sustainable Development since she began her Master’s degree in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability (MSLS) at the Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH) in Sweden, back in 2005. After completion of her degree, she spent one year working with the Vancity Group to enhance their sustainability performance and leadership. After that, she returned to Sweden to join the teaching team at BTH, eventually holding the role as MSLS Programme Director for several years. She has stewarded about 250 talented graduates through their studies in Sweden, and has taught around the world, including in Canada, USA, Mexico, Costa Rica, France, China, and on the Peace Boat’s 74th global voyage.

Tamara’s background is diverse, but for her, nothing compares to teaching, coaching, and mentoring within educational settings. Through facilitated trainings, games, simulations, and workshops, she helps people to see the interconnectedness of the world and our underlying mental models. She enjoys subtly (and not so subtly) pulling leaders out of their comfort zones to see what they can really become. Outside of her time at The Natural Step, Tamara occasionally leads courses in Authentic Leadership development, and is working to enhance her knowledge and skills in Enneagram, Personal Coaching, and team assessment and performance techniques. Tamara is a certified Associate Coach with Integral Coaching Canada.

Tamara grew up in various places around British Columbia, and now calls Vancouver home. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Planning from UNBC, and a Master’s in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability from BTH. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, exploring new eateries, meditating, and helping to connect people and projects within her networks.
