We are pleased to announce that  The GLOBE Awards for Environmental Excellence are open for entries to businesses meeting the criteria. Please note these awards are different from the Sustainable City Globe Award we posted earlier.

If your business would like to be involved-- but are not yet leaders in the sustainability world-- we recommend you check out The Natural Step Canada's Sustainable Communities Program. Through our unique suite of advisory, coaching, and process facilitation services, we can help your community make transformational changes toward sustainability. The communities we work with consistently win sustainability awards and honours in Canada and around the world. Yours can, too!

For those organizations who are already sustainability leaders—these awards are for you!

Organizations are encouraged to submit applications for:

• The Award for Corporate Environmental Excellence
• The Award for Technology Innovation and Application
• The Award for Excellence in Urban Sustainability
• The Award for Best Green Consumer Product
• The Award for Best Green Retailing Practices

Keep in mind that you are able to apply for more than one award category, but you are required to submit separate applications for each category.

Each year, The GLOBE Foundation proudly supports the commitment of these business leaders by recognizing outstanding achievement in environmental stewardship with the GLOBE Awards for Environmental Excellence. Considered to be the most high-profile national awards series of its type, the GLOBE Awards are judged by a panel of experts recognized in the Canadian business community.

The 2011 GLOBE Awards will be presented in Vancouver the evening of May 12, 2011 on the eve of our fifth annual EPIC Sustainable Living Expo. Drawing a crowd of high profile participants involved in the business and environment community, the event is guaranteed to be packed with suspense, excitement, and inspiring stories about companies on the sustainable path to success.

All finalists will receive nation-wide media coverage, and a chance to showcase their achievements in front of their clients, competitors, colleagues and peers.
